Q: How do I get my car moved?

Q: When can I expect my car to be picked up?
A: We move as quickly as possible to find an open spot on the transport. Shipping a car does take some time to arrange. Usually the most time-consuming thing is trying to get you the lowest price for your car move. After your car is assigned to a truck you need to be ready as we work with trucks that want to load within a day or two usually. Being flexible is important.
Q: Delivery time?
A: We give approximate delivery times to you at the time the truck is assigned. Those times and dates are based on where the truck was at the time of assigning. In most cases the trucks are pretty good at estimating delivery times and dates. Weather can cause scheduling problems and considering how far they are travelling they are bound to run into some storms on their way. Again, being flexible is a good thing.
Q: Do you offer door-to-door service?
A: Yes, usually. Depending upon the accessibility of your home or business the driver will try to get to you. If you live in a hard to access area, the driver may phone you asking for a meeting place such as a parking lot. Remember, transport trucks are difficult to navigate through some places, so your help and understanding are greatly appreciated. Another problem for delivery can be power lines and trees. Transport trucks are tall therefore cannot navigate safely in some areas, but for the most part your car will be delivered to your door. If possible, pick out a parking lot beforehand, that is in your neighborhood.
Q: Do you use terminals?
A: No, we never use terminals. They are far too risky to leave your car in. Terminals usually have poor security and transports and cargo freight trucks come and go constantly. They can damage your car and you will have no way of legally pursuing them as they are "Not Responsible For Customer Cars" just like the sign says on the front gate. Also thieves love terminals. Terminals also are usually located in dangerous areas or bad neighborhoods. Don't go alone and if you do go be cautious. Not all terminals are like this but many are and they are frequented by transports who may not care what happens to your car after it's delivered. Stay away from terminals.
Q: What can I put inside my car or car trunk?
A: The Federal Motor Carrier authorities will not allow a transport to insure anything inside the car that is not attached to the vehicle. Most trucks don't want to carry vehicles that are loaded down with personal items either. Transports can be fined for transporting personal belongings inside your car.
Q: What type of insurance will my car have when it is transported?
A: The Federal Highway Administration no longer requires the transport truck to carry cargo insurance on your car. The transports can now keep their license without having cargo insurance. Sounds crazy but it is true. That's why RAPID AUTO TRANSPORT works hard to find a safe and legal transporter to carry your car. We only use trucks that DO carry the cargo insurance on your car. We like to treat our customers cars as if they were ours. If at any time you need to ask for the transport's insurance or deductible information, feel free to call us or the transporter we set you up with. That's why we are here...to serve you!
Q: How do I pay?
A: We accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. You can telephone your order to us or mail it. We don't use online credit card orders because we want your card number protected! Your card number is not given out to anyone! Nor do we sell your personal information. After we calculate your deposit you can pay whichever way you choose. When your vehicle arrives you will pay the driver in full the remaining amount due after the deposit. You must pay in full, in cash or cashier's check ONLY. C.O.D. is the only way the driver can release the vehicle to you.
